I hate to admit that I'm a wannabe writer. The aesthetic of the writer, at least how it's portrayed in some films and TV, is a bit romanticized. Aren't all these people getting paid to be distressed and voice their opinions in prose? Isn't that what we all do with social media, anyway? Why not get paid for it?
My tone is weak. I find the passive voice far too often in my writing. The mechanics are okay, but where is my voice? How do I sound?
I don't know. Because I'm a wannabe writer.
